Farrokh Vajifdar was born in Mumbai, India in 1939 into a priestly family. He undertook his initial schooling in Mumbai, and proceeded to London, England, for his university education where he studied modern languages.  He has since settled in England and lives in the capital with his wife and son. Farrokh is an independent researcher into Indo-Iranian culture with an abiding interest in the study of Zoroastrianism.  He is a Fellow and a former Vice-President of the Royal Asiatic Society.
